Synopsis:
Four episodes with love as their linking thread: the hero of EROS is a young paraplegic madly in love with his female physiotherapist; MATERNITY traces the tragicomic odyssey of Franco and Manuela, a young couple forced to resort to IVF to have a child; THE WEDDING tells of Fosco and Filippo, a gay couple who go to Spain to be married; in EXTREME LOVE, 50-year-old Ernesto, tired of the marital routine, is swept away by his passion for Cecilia, a much younger woman.
The link between all four episodes is a radio broadcast hosted by DJ Fulvio on the topic of love.

Did you know that...
• Following the worldwide success of “Manuale d’amore”, Giovanni Veronesi does an encore in the form of “Manuale d’amore 2”, which brings us four new love stories dealing with more controversial issues, such as the sex lives of paraplegics, IVF, same-sex marriages and sex between people of different age groups.• The plot of the film seems simple: four couples are on the point of splitting up until something happens to persuade them to try again. On two occasions, Barcelona, filmed as the city of social freedom, plays the role of saviour and counsellor.
• The sequel features two of the actors who appeared in the first film: Carlo Verdone in the role of Ernesto and Sergio Rubini as Fosco.
• The part of the film set in Barcelona was shot in July 2006.
• The two episodes that are partially set in Barcelona are used by the Italian filmmaker to criticise the slow social and legislative progress being made in Italy regarding such burning issues as IVF and same-sex marriages.
• Italy has one of the most restrictive laws on IVF in the European Union. Left-wing political parties and a number of organisations tried to change it without success in a referendum held in June 2005.
• “Manuale d’amore 2” has become one of the highest-grossing Italian films of all time and took 28 million euros at the box office during the first nine months of 2007.
• It was the third highest-grossing film in Italy between July 2006 and July 2007.
• As a result of the success of “Manuale d’amore 2” and its prequel, Giovanni Veronesi has already shot the third part with the aim of completing a series of five films that will provide a filmed encyclopaedia about love.
